Washington Capitals left wing, Alex Ovechkin, celebrates with Mike Green and Nicklas Backstrom after scoring his 65th goal of the season in the third period at Verizon Center on April 3, 2008 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The goal was Ovechkin’s 65th of the season, the new record for goals scored in a single season by a left wing. Ovechkin scored his 64th of the season in the first period, breaking the old record set by Luc Robitaille in 1993.
